Healthy Choices for Your Employees
Wellness Physicals
The Wellness Physical is an important component in the array of services represented by OU Physicians HealthWorks. The Wellness Physical occurs in three phases:
Phase 1: On-Line Health Risk Assessment
The Health Risk Assessment (HRA) consists of a comprehensive survey completed by your employees. This online form provides easy and secure access. Participants’ responses to the assessment provide an overview of lifestyle and behaviors. Employees receive their confidential summary by mail. Phase 2: On-Site Screening In this phase, comprehensive lab work is conveniently scheduled at your preferred location. Screenings include physical measurements for:
Other lab work includes a Lipid Panel, measuring cholesterol and triglyceride levels, as well as a Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP), a measurement of kidney and liver function, blood sugars and electrolyte and fluid balance. For men, a Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) test is recommended, but optional at a nominal additional cost.
Phase 3: Physical Exam
A 30-minute consultation with an OU Physician at one of two convenient locations completes the Wellness Physical. Information from the HRA and screening results together create a Wellness Profile. From the Wellness Profile, the physician will make recommendations regarding current health status and possible lifestyle changes. The exam may include other tests appropriate for the age and gender of the employee. Tests beyond the scope of the Wellness Physicals exam are optional and employees are responsible for costs incurred. Any customary deductibles or co-pays will apply.
An Investment in Human Capital
Your organization’s employees are among its greatest assets. Wellness Physicals can help promote better health and increase retention of these valued employees. Put OU Physicians HealthWorks to work for you.
